Sunday school service is a mission of the heart. It is not a science or an art, but rather a life of complete love, devotion, and glory to our beloved LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST to WHOM is due all glory, that is passed on from one generation to the next. As the late Bishop Yoouanis of Gharbia said, "Its school is the school of the HOLY SPIRIT WHO inflames the heart, sanctifies it, teaches it everything, and reminds it of the words of the LORD JESUS."
Its strength and power lie in complete love and devotion to the LORD, as "Love never fails." (1Cor. 13:8)
Its purpose is to build and strengthen all souls as Nehemiah the prophet said, "Let us build the gates of Jerusalem and not be a reproach." (Neh. 2:17)
Its servants are relentless in their struggle as St. Paul writes, "Watch, and remember that by the space of three years, I ceased not to warn everyone, night and day, with tears." (Acts 20:31)
It is supported by faith, as our BLESSED LORD and SAVIOR said, "He that believes on ME, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works than these shall he do." (St. John 14:12)
It's a service that submits to GOD as our Mother St. Mary taught us, "Whatsoever HE says to you do it." (St. John 2:5)
It is upheld by prayer--a life of prayer is the guarantee behind the service, as St. Paul taught us by the HOLY SPIRIT in Ephesians 3:14-21:
"For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."
We all, as servants of our LORD, GOD, and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, should constantly pray in full faith that we may be given the wisdom and the grace to be worthy of his blessed service so that HE may work both in us and through us. We too should aspire to dedicate ourselves to HIS service and to live wholly within it so that we may, through HIS compassion, gain the blessings of HIS DIVINE calling.
